Why convert JPG to JP2
JPG has no transparency and handles text, screenshots and thin lines badly. JP2 is a JPEG 2000 file: it compresses noticeably better than JPEG but opens almost nowhere. It comes from medical equipment, digital archives, scanners and pro cameras.
